FISHEYE KALEIDOSCOPE
seed oil, pigment, canvas
90 × 90cm each
This series of paintings includes ornamental goldfish in addition to a kaleidoscopic motif to create spectacles that appear to be moving under layers of glass and water.
Around us as well as within ourselves, nothing is ever static, but in a constant state of flux. Through these changes, constellations continually evolve, collide and expand outwards in motion with no pattern ever reemerging again in exactly the same way.
I am influenced by the idea of the kaleidoscope as an instrument in seeing these moments pass; flowing into one another.
