This set of paintings depict two waterfall like streams. The effect of the silver leaf and oil paint create the illusion of water suspended in midair. I thought that through the vision alone, one could almost imagine the sound such a volume of water might make. Waterfalls also have a kind of illusory nature. For instance the way that the water suspensions create certain optical effects under the play of light. They invite a notion of fantasy, sometimes inviting us to wonder what might lie on the other side behind them. Could there be a tunnel to a secret cave or fantasy world?
