This painting was inspired by memories of a childhood story about a mythical hidden valley. It is a kind of dreamscape oasis depicting the promising azure water of an oasis in a dry landscape. The oasis appears to be floating in midair with mountain like forms encircling it from above and below as if there were no gravity.
